The Sendai Christmas Market recreates the atmosphere of a traditional German Christmas market in the heart of Sendai City. The event offers visitors a chance to experience the festive ambiance and cultural traditions associated with Germany’s renowned winter celebrations.

A Reproduction of Frankfurt’s Christmas Market
The market is modlled after the Christmas Market in Frankfurt, Germany, which is often regarded as one of the origins of the tradition. Decorations and stall designs are arranged to reflect authentic German style, creating a space reminiscent of the original setting.

Central Christmas Tree
A large Christmas tree serves as the symbol of the market. It is illuminated by numerous LED lights that emit a soft glow across the venue, contributing to the event’s festive atmosphere.

Traditional “Hütte” Chalets
Wooden Hütten (mountain-style chalets) are installed throughout the venue. These structures host vendors offering handmade gifts, Christmas decorations, and seasonal foods, providing a warm and welcoming environment.

European Christmas Goods
Selected Christmas goods and ornaments are imported from Europe. Staff members personally visited workshops and markets to choose each item, ensuring a collection that reflects authentic craftsmanship and design.

Live Music Performances
Live performances by artists are scheduled during the event. The music provides a pleasant background for visitors to enjoy the seasonal setting and dining spaces.

Admission
An admission fee applies on specific days only: December 12 (Fri), 13 (Sat), 14 (Sun), 19 (Fri), 20 (Sat), 21 (Sun), 24 (Wed), and 25 (Thu). This fee contributes to security and safety measures, including crowd management within the venue.

At Hey Japan!, we strive to keep the events listed on our website as current as possible. However, event organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or modify admission requirements without prior notice. Check official websites before attending any event.
