How to use it

There are three kinds of pass: a bus pass for 1 or 3 days, the same bus pass with one day on the Yui Rail monorail added, and a cheaper 1-day off-peak bus pass.

The 1-day pass is valid on the date marked on it. The 3-day pass runs for three days in a row from its start date, and the start date can't be changed later.

On the paper pass, scratch off the date you ride with a coin, and show the pass to the driver when you get on and off.

For the monorail day, hand the pass to the staff at a Yui Rail station, who issue a Yui Rail 1-day ticket in exchange. You can do this within one week before or after the pass's start date. Leave the Yui Rail tab attached: a tab you tear off yourself is not valid.

The off-peak pass is sold only in the OTOPa app, with no paper version. It is valid from 9:00 to 16:00, and you have to board by 16:00.

Before you buy

The pass is only for tourists who live outside Okinawa Prefecture and visit for a short sightseeing stay, so residents of Okinawa can't buy it. When you buy, you may be asked for your passport or other proof of a short-term stay, proof that you live outside Okinawa, or your return flight ticket.

Child fares are for ages 6 to 11. Each passenger aged 6 or over can bring one child aged 5 or under for free, and a second young child needs a child fare. There is no disability discount, and other discounts don't apply.

The paper pass is sold at bus company counters in Naha, among them the Naha Bus Terminal sales office and the Regular Tour Bus Terminal, at the Okinawa Bus office in Nago Bus Terminal, at Naha City Tourist Information on Kokusai Street and at the Ryubo Travel Salon. The pass is also sold in the OTOPa app.

Refunds: the pass can't be refunded, reissued or extended. The exception is a day when buses and the Yui Rail stop all day, for example in a typhoon: unused passes are then refunded or reissued at designated counters. If you bought it outside Okinawa or online, ask the seller.
