Toys’ Kingdom Playroom Area
Mell-chan’s House: The only Mel-chan’s House in the Kanto region, offering imaginative care play that fosters kindness.
Ania Pavilion: Features palm-sized Ania animal figures, allowing the creation of miniature zoos or dinosaur battles while learning about animal diversity.
Dia Block Park: Contains eco-friendly rice-based OKOMEIRO blocks that support the development of colour sense, creativity, and imagination.
Wooden Toy Room: Includes stacking blocks, ball drops, puzzles, and musical instruments from Japan and around the world in a space themed around wood education.
Tomica & Plarail Land: Features over 40 types of Plarail trains and Tomica cars, including Shinkansen, limited express trains, and Thomas the Tank Engine.
Pretend Play House: Offers more than 60 types of pretend-play items such as fruits, vegetables, and tableware for cooking, cleaning, and shopkeeping play.
Sylvanian Families Hall: Recreates the Sylvanian Families world with a large diorama, dolls, houses, and accessories, including photo opportunities with Flare and Ralph.

Attractions at Toys’ Kingdom

Nature and Adventure Play Areas
Waku Waku Great Adventure Forest
Waku Waku Great Adventure Forest features four diverse outdoor areas built using natural lava from Mount Asama, offering unique adventure elements with approximately 120 obstacles, making it one of the largest adventure playgrounds in northern Kanto. The course includes wobbly bridges, climbing challenges, treehouses, secret mushroom-shaped bases, and the Tsukushi Tower, providing a full-scale adventure experience. The four main areas are:
- Lava Climb & Observation Area: Cross lava paths, swaying bridges, and climbing nets, then pull across rivers using special boxes to reach the observation deck at approximately 1,114 m above sea level (around 35 elements).
- Lava House Area: Centred around a large mushroom-shaped base, featuring round log suspension bridges, long forest slides, and the six-spire Tsukushi Tower with panoramic forest views.
- Wacky Castle Area: Reach the “Elm Tree Treehouse”, shaped like a cocoon, via high suspension bridges, and take a rest at the stylish “House on the Bridge” before enjoying views from the Wacky Castle atop the trees.
- Giant MushroomSecret Base Area: Focused on a massive mushroom-shaped base, connected to various challenges such as the round log suspension bridge, a long forest slide, and the six-spire Tsukushi Tower, offering spectacular views across the forest.
Notes: Participation requires appropriate safety gear, including a helmet, protective gear, and closed-toe, non-slip shoes with socks (socks can be purchased on-site if not brought). Helmets, protective gear, and shoes are provided free of charge. Age restrictions and guardian accompaniment requirements apply. Admission fees are charged, but Free Pass holders enjoy unlimited access.
Keiryu Fishing (Mountain Stream Fishing)
Visitors can try trout fishing in the park’s clear mountain stream, working together with family to catch rainbow trout. The activity includes one fishing rod, bait, and lasts for one hour or until two trout are caught. The fee is charged per rod and includes one trout for grilling.
Forest Experience Plaza
Forest Experience Plaza offers hands-on activities using natural materials, including woodworking craft classes and seasonal outdoor cooking events.
- Woodworking Craft Classes: Visitors can create photo frames, welcome boards, and other wooden items using natural materials, with prices varying depending on the project.
- Forest Cooking Activities: Special outdoor cooking sessions are offered on selected dates, featuring Nagano’s local dishes, such as Gohei-mochi, and campfire bread baking.
Notes: These activities often require advance reservations and are offered only during specific seasons.
Waterwheel Plaza / Rainbow Trout Catching
Visitors aged 2 through elementary school can catch lively rainbow trout in the park’s cold highland waters. After the activity, participants receive a grilled trout. Children aged 2–4 must be accompanied by a guardian. A participation fee applies, and the activity is seasonal, running until November.
Handmade Workshop “Hands!”
This creative workshop allows visitors to decorate plates, cups, and other items with their favourite colours, which are then fired to create unique souvenirs. Additional activities include Lava Craft, making small items from Mount Asama lava, and the Earth’s Beautiful Stones corner, showcasing various stones from around the world. Fees start at 1,400 yen. Examples of activities: Rakuyaki (approximately 20 minutes), Lava Craft, Earth’s Beautiful Stones.
Water Plaza
A dedicated area for water play, where children can enjoy splashing and playing freely. Visitors are encouraged to bring a change of clothes, as getting muddy is part of the fun. Admission is free.
Sand Plaza
An area designed for creative sand play, where children can build sandcastles, dig tunnels, and shape sand hills. This classic activity encourages imagination and hands-on learning. Admission is free.
Rabbit Plaza / Duck Pond
Visitors can interact with friendly rabbits and domestic ducks, enjoying a hands-on experience with these animals. Admission is free.
Hammock Plaza
A relaxing area where visitors can sway gently between two trees in a hammock, enjoying the fresh air and peaceful surroundings. Admission is free.
