The Myōtsū-ji temple is a Buddhist temple. The exact date of its foundation is uncertain, but according to temple records from 1374, it was established by the renowned general Sakanoue no Tamuramaro in 806. The Hondō and the three-story pagoda, both dating back to the Kamakura period, are designated as National Treasures. Additionally, several statues from the Heian period housed within these buildings are considered Important Cultural Properties. The temple also features a garden with a pond.
