Kohei Horikoshi's "My Hero Academia" Original Art Exhibition opens at Fukuoka Mitsukoshi, marking the series' first appearance in Kyushu.

About the Exhibition

My Hero Academia – affectionately known as Heroaca – began serialisation in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2014, telling the story of Izuku Midoriya. The series concluded in August 2024 after a ten-year run, with worldwide print and digital sales surpassing 100 million copies as of March 2025. It has since been adapted into a long-running TV anime, theatrical films, stage productions, and video games.

The original art exhibition debuted in Tokyo in June 2025 and continued to Osaka, with tickets selling out at both venues. The Fukuoka edition arrives as the show's first stop outside the Kansai and Kanto regions.

The exhibition commemorates the manga's conclusion by tracing its ten-year journey through Horikoshi's original manuscripts. Visitors can follow the story of Midoriya and his classmates – from his early days as a quirkless outcast to the climactic battles that defined the series' final arc – through the very pages Horikoshi drew. The centrepiece of the exhibition is an unprecedentedly large display of rare production materials, assembled with Horikoshi's full cooperation. These include original manuscripts, digital production process materials, and behind-the-scenes documentation of how individual pages and sequences were created – content that cannot be seen anywhere else. Horikoshi's own commentary and creative notes on the work are also presented throughout.

Fukuoka-Exclusive Merchandise

Alongside the 100-plus items carried over from the Tokyo and Osaka venues, four new products make their debut exclusively at Fukuoka, all featuring a Snapshot illustration drawn by Horikoshi specifically for this exhibition. The new items are a 15-card bromide set designed to resemble L-size photographs, an acrylic art piece featuring Midoriya, Bakugo, and All Might, an acrylic figure of Midoriya holding a camera, and a medal-style acrylic keychain collection based on the top 10 results from the series' global character popularity vote, available as random singles or a complete set of all ten.

Visitor Bonus

Each visitor receives one randomly selected tabloid-style sticker (55mm × 82mm) featuring key battle scenes from the series. The design cannot be chosen in advance. A holographic collection card set using the exhibition's specially commissioned key visual is also available for purchase while supplies last.

Tickets

The exhibition operates on a fully timed-entry system for all dates. Tickets are available through e+ and at FamilyMart multifunction copy machines on a first-come, first-served basis – no advance lottery is held.

Early-period tickets (April 11–May 10) have been on sale since February 14 and have sold strongly. Late-period tickets (May 11–June 14) go on sale April 29 at 10:00. Due to the popularity of early-period tickets, the timed-entry system has been extended to cover weekdays in the late period as well.

At Hey Japan!, we strive to keep the events listed on our website as current as possible. However, event organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or modify admission requirements without prior notice. Check official websites before attending any event.
