Every year on the first Thursday of August, Wakura Onsen holds an annual fireworks display over the ocean at Wakura Port, a tradition that has been ongoing for nearly 50 years. The display is the only onsen fireworks festival by the sea in the Hokuriku region, which includes Ishikawa and surrounding prefectures.
