How to use it
There are two versions at the same prices. The paper pass comes as a 1-day, 2-day or 3-day pass and goes on sale 7 days before your start date. The digital ticket is sold on Hiroden's MOBIRY TRAVEL website and runs for 24, 48 or 72 hours from when you activate it, which you must do within 90 days of buying, counting the day of purchase.
On streetcars and buses, show the pass to the driver when you get off (on the Meipuru-pu, when you get on). On the ferries, show it at the gate. With the paper pass, show the side with the date stamp. On Middle Area express buses, tear off an express bus coupon when you get off and put it in the fare box or hand it to the driver.
For Miyajima, buy a ¥100 visitor tax ticket from the machine at the Miyajimaguchi ferry terminal, show your pass at the gate and hand the tax ticket to the staff.
Every buyer also gets digital coupons for sights, shops and restaurants, usable while the pass is valid.
Before you buy
Anyone can buy it, and adults and children pay the same price.
Paper passes are sold at the bus ticket office on the first floor of the Shinkansen exit at JR Hiroshima Station, Hiroshima Bus Center, Hiroden offices including Miyajimaguchi, the Peace Memorial Park Rest House and the Hiroshima Airport domestic information counter, among others.
The digital ticket needs a MOBIRY TRAVEL account, a credit card and an internet connection while you travel. A ticket bought for several people must be used together. Once activated it can't be refunded; before that, a refund costs ¥200 per person. Delays don't extend the ticket.
Questions
Does the Visit Hiroshima Tourist Pass cover the ferry to Miyajima?
Yes. It covers both Miyajima ferries, Miyajima Matsudai Kisen and the JR West Miyajima Ferry. The ¥100 Miyajima visitor tax is paid separately at the Miyajimaguchi ferry terminal.
Can I use it on JR trains?
No. JR trains aren't included. To reach Miyajimaguchi on the pass, take the Hiroden streetcar's Miyajima Line.
Does it cover the bus from Hiroshima Airport?
No. Hiroshima Airport limousine buses and the Kure to Hiroshima Airport bus are excluded from every version of the pass.
What does the Middle Area pass add?
Some local buses around Kure, Takehara, Mihara, Miyoshi, Shobara, Higashihiroshima and Iwakuni, plus two rides on the express buses to Sandankyo, Kure, Takehara, Miyoshi and Shobara, and Iwakuni. It is a 72-hour or 3-day pass for ¥4,500.
Is there a child price?
No. Adults and children pay the same price for every version.
Should I get the paper pass or the digital ticket?
They cost the same. The digital ticket runs for 24, 48 or 72 hours from activation and needs an internet connection; the paper pass runs for 1, 2 or 3 days and is bought at ticket offices in Hiroshima.
Can I use it on the Meipuru-pu sightseeing bus?
Yes. The Meipuru-pu is included; show the pass to the driver when you get on.
