Evangelion Wind Symphony 2026
「エヴァンゲリオン」ウインドシンフォニー 2026
A wind ensemble concert celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Evangelion series with music from the franchise performed without video projection.

The Evangelion Wind Symphony comes to Kobe this autumn for its sixth performance since its 2018 premiere, marking the 30th anniversary of the Evangelion series.
The concert features music from the Evangelion series performed entirely by a wind ensemble — brass, woodwind, and percussion — without accompanying video projection. Conductor and arranger Masamichi Amano, a composer and conductor known for his orchestral arrangements on the Rebuild of Evangelion film series, Berserk, Attack on Titan, Shin Godzilla, and Shin Ultraman, leads the performance. Special guests include Takahashi Yoko, the singer synonymous with the series whose recordings of "Cruel Angel's Thesis" (Zankoku na Tenshi no Te-ze) and "Soul's Refrain" (Tamashii no Rufuran) have surpassed 175 million combined sales and streams, and internationally acclaimed trumpeter Eric Miyashiro, who has performed worldwide across jazz, classical, and popular music. The concert is supervised and composed by Sagisu Shiro. The Kobe performance will be performed by the Osaka Shion Wind Orchestra, a symphonic wind ensemble founded in 1923 and beloved under the nickname "Shion". Formerly known as the Osaka Municipal Band, the orchestra has received numerous awards including the Osaka Cultural Festival Prize and the Japan Wind Band Academic Award, and currently performs under Music Director Miyagawa Akirа and Artistic Advisor Akiyama Kazuyoshi.
