Animation studio MAPPA marks 15 years since its establishment with a major retrospective exhibition opening in Tokyo this September.
The exhibition features immersive displays centred on three of MAPPA's most prominent works: the theatrical film Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, Attack on Titan: The Final Season, and Jujutsu Kaisen. Visitors can explore the worlds and aesthetics of these franchises through specially curated displays that showcase the visual storytelling and creative direction distinctive to each series. The exhibition includes artwork, design materials, and interactive elements not available elsewhere.
Exhibition-exclusive merchandise has been developed specifically for the event, featuring newly commissioned illustrations and original artwork. Three themed merchandise sets are available as pre-order bundles tied to ticket purchases: one each for Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, Attack on Titan: The Final Season, and Jujutsu Kaisen. Each set includes a limited-edition visual acrylic panel.
The exhibition is divided into two periods with staggered displays: 16 September–25 October and 28 October–7 December. A brief closure occurs 26–27 October for display changeover.
All visitors receive a complimentary postcard set of original artwork in a cut-style envelope; designs are randomly distributed and include five variants from each of the three featured titles.
The exhibition operates on a timed-slot entry system to manage visitor flow and ensure safety. Entry times are allocated in 30-minute intervals throughout opening hours.
