How to use it
The ticket runs for 24, 48 or 72 hours from the time you first go through a ticket gate. It comes as a card or as a QR ticket on your phone.
With the QR ticket, scan the QR code on your screen at a QR-compatible ticket gate. Each person needs their own QR code; if you buy several tickets, you can send them to other phones.
Before you buy
The ticket is for overseas visitors, and for visitors from within Japan who live outside Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma and Yamanashi. You can buy it online from Tokyo Metro's official shop.
Refunds: all the tickets bought in one transaction can be refunded together, within the validity period and before they are used, for a fee of ¥220 per transaction. Single tickets from a transaction can't be refunded on their own.

Does the Tokyo Subway Ticket cover JR lines?
No. It covers Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway lines only.
When do the 24, 48 or 72 hours start?
From the time you first go through a ticket gate.
Can residents of Tokyo buy it?
No. It is for overseas visitors and for visitors living outside Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma and Yamanashi.
