The beloved Detective Conan TV anime is set to celebrate its milestone 30th anniversary with a large-scale commemorative exhibition: “TV Anime Detective Conan 30th Anniversary Exhibition.” The exhibition honors three decades of support from fans since the anime first aired on January 8, 1996. The event will launch at Tokyo Dome City Prism Hall on February 20, 2026, before traveling to venues across Japan. Beloved characters will welcome visitors right at the entrance, setting the tone for an immersive experience.

The exhibition offers fans a rare opportunity to explore the full production process behind the TV anime — from planning and storyboarding to voice acting and theme songs. Visitors can trace the evolution of the series through five main production sections, alongside special memorial displays.

Highlights

Behind-the-Scenes Production Areas

Fans of the anime can delve into the secrets of production:

  • Planning: Explore character design materials, art setting references, and insights into the creative priorities of series creator Gosho Aoyama. Exhibits include detailed models of iconic locations, such as the Mouri Detective Agency.

  • Storyboards: Walls lined with dozens of actual storyboards used throughout the anime’s history — an immersive look at 30 years of visual planning.

  • Animation (Drawing & Color): See Conan “come to life” frame by frame through sequential key animations, highlighting the transition from black-and-white line art to full-colour movement.

  • Voice Recording (ADR): A hands-on audio experience allows visitors to compare Conan’s expressions of joy, anger, sorrow, and fun. Messages from the voice cast are also on display.

  • Theme Songs: An archive of every opening and ending theme, complete with CD jackets and a chronological history of the music that has shaped the series’ identity.

Special Areas

  • SP Memorial Scenes: A chronological journey through the anime’s most unforgettable moments — from 1996 to today.

  • SP Thanks Theatre: A special, original video created exclusively for the exhibition, dedicated to fans who have supported Detective Conan over the past 30 years.

  • NEXT CONAN’S HINT: A showcase of the famous “Next Conan’s Hint” segments, along with behind-the-scenes insights into the creation of the special movie.

The exhibition will also feature a variety of original, limited-edition goods, with announcements posted on the official website and X account. Images released prior to the event may differ from the final products.

Discounted advance tickets go on sale starting December 17 at 19:00. Tickets are available online via Lawson Ticket, Seven Ticket, and NTV Zero Ticket platforms. In addition to standard advance and day-of admission tickets, Special Bonus Tickets are offered. A Special Bonus Ticket includes an exclusive acrylic display stand featuring Conan and 30 characters, redeemable at the venue.
