AnimeJapan

AnimeJapan is a convention for Japanese animation, held each spring. Anime studios, publishers and other companies take booths to present their new and current titles to fans over two public days, and separate business days are held for the industry.

What happens

Exhibitors fill the halls with booths for their titles, with displays, announcements and small stage events. The AJ Stage programme brings voice actors, creators and other guests onto several stages to talk about current productions and to announce new ones. Official goods are sold, some of them only at the event, and many visitors come in cosplay.

The business days are open to people in the industry only, for meetings between rights holders, overseas buyers and companies that license and distribute anime.

AnimeJapan 2027

AnimeJapan 2027 moves to INTEX Osaka, after being held at Tokyo Big Sight. The public days take up halls 2 to 6, and the business days use hall 1. The AJ Stage programme runs on four stages, named Red, Green, Blue and White, and the event also hosts an award for new anime creators.
