Unknown Kawaii Sofubi Exhibition

SOMSOC GALLERY in Harajuku, Tokyo will host the Unknown Kawaii Sofubi Exhibition, presenting a unique exploration of “unknown cuteness” through soft vinyl (sofubi) art. This exhibition brings together sofubi artists from Japan and abroad, inviting visitors into a world that is charming, strange, and difficult to define.

The exhibition focuses on sofubi works that emphasize subtle cuteness. Rather than traditional or nostalgic interpretations, participating artists use sofubi as a medium to express personal worlds, emotions, and imaginative creatures that feel alive in their own way.

Participating artists include Dian (静電場朔), Kazumitsu Akamatsu (Marmit), Hong Kong–based duo Ouch & Oops!!, Manju, AMA, Akudamakin Factory, Peach Hell Momoo, Ofuton Tengoku, Somiji, and more. Each artist contributes works that reflect a distinct sense of character, texture, and presence — blending softness with individuality.

On display are one-of-a-kind sofubi pieces available exclusively at the exhibition, alongside limited-edition original goods such as glow-in-the-dark keychains and stickers. Selected artworks will be sold via a lottery system, with applications accepted both in-store and through SOMSOC GALLERY’s official online shop.

SOMSOC GALLERY serves as both an artist gallery and select shop, acting as a creative hub that connects artists’ inner worlds with the real space of pop culture.
