Atomic Bomb Dome
The Atomic Bomb Dome, also known as the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, is a ruin in Hiroshima, Japan. It is the remains of the former Industrial Promotion Hall, which was one of the few buildings left standing near ground zero after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. The dome was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996 as a symbol of the horrors of nuclear warfare and a reminder of the need for world peace. The dome is now a popular tourist destination and a symbol of the city's commitment to peace.
