The museum, which was established in 1991, was relocated to Gifu City in 1994 and became a branch of the Museum of History. It serves as an art museum that pays tribute to the artistic accomplishments of painters Eizo Kato and the Toichi brothers. Additionally, it plays an important role in promoting local art and culture. The museum has a total floor space of 490.6 square meters and two exhibition rooms, each with an area of 116.7 square meters. The first exhibition room showcases the artwork of Eizō and Tōichi Katō. Currently, there are approximately 5,000 drawings and 150 completed paintings on display, with the majority being restored and mounted drawings. In the second exhibition room, exhibitions of works by local artist groups are showcased.
