The Gifu City Science Museum is a public museum run by Gifu City. It first opened its doors as the Gifu City Children's Science Museum in Gifu Park in 1955. In November 1988, a planetarium was added to the museum, leading to its renaming as the Gifu City Science Museum. The museum boasts a variety of interactive exhibitions covering topics such as nature, technology, our planet, space and more. Both children and adults can enjoy different programs offered by the planetarium. The museum also holds regular astronomical viewing sessions through a telescope at its rooftop observatory. Additionally, there is a science stage where regular science demonstrations are held.
