The Fukushima Prefectural Museum of Art is a beautiful and modern facility located in the heart of Fukushima City. Situated at the foot of Mt. Shinobu, a symbol of the city, the museum opened its doors in 1984 and is situated on a spacious sixty thousand square meter site. The museum building is independent from the adjacent Fukushima Prefectural Library, with its own grounds and gardens that are widely acclaimed for their beauty. The museum's mission is to acquire and exhibit fine works of modern and contemporary art, providing the public with access to a wide range of exhibitions and programming.
