The absurdist gag-battle manga Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo is getting its own exhibition this autumn. Titled "Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo Exhibition: DIVE INTO THE BO-BOBO WORLD", the event runs from September 30 through October 17 at Exhibition Hall D, Sunshine City, Ikebukuro.
The exhibition is being positioned as a "Hajikerist Training Program" – a tongue-in-cheek concept billing itself as a project to free modern minds from the constraints of meaning and correct answers. Under the tagline "Awakening to Nonsense", visitors are invited to follow the battle trails of Bo-bobo and his fellow Hajikerists, take in the legend with their own eyes, and emerge into what the official site calls "a magnificent Hajike".
The newly revealed teaser visual shows the series' protagonist – Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, seventh-generation inheritor of the Hanage Shinken (Nose Hair Fist) and current King of Hajikerists – in a cool pose. It captures the afterimage of his Waki-ge Shinken (Armpit Hair Fist) technique "Kekon (Sparkling)", the move used to defeat Hagen, captain of G Block of the Hair Hunters, in episode 1 of the TV anime. The artwork is rendered in vivid, colourful tones designed to evoke immersion into the Bo-bobo world.
