Fist of the North Star

Anime Tokyo Station, a dedicated exhibition venue for Japanese anime, will hold a special exhibition centred on "Fist of the North Star".

"Fist of the North Star" is a manga written by Buronson, with art by Tetsuo Hara, which began serialisation in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1983. The story follows Kenshiro, a martial artist who wields the deadly "Hokuto Shinken" fighting style against the villains of a post-apocalyptic world. It was first adapted for television in 1984 and has since continued across numerous other media for more than four decades, with its collected volumes selling over 100 million copies worldwide.

A new anime adaptation, produced with a new cast and staff alongside current animation technology, began broadcasting under the title "Fist of the North Star" in spring 2026, drawing considerable attention on release.

The exhibition will display a history of the franchise, panels of scene photography looking back over the new series, and setting materials and production-process footage from it. An original digital feature will also let visitors answer a series of questions to find out which character from the series most closely matches their personality.
