Shima Spain Village is introducing a new virtual-reality attraction, "THE SUNSET OF MARS", for a limited period. Marking its first appearance in western Japan, the attraction offers a simulated journey to Mars and is suited to a wide range of ages, from children to adults. Using its latest virtual-reality system, the attraction allows visitors to explore a virtual environment on foot while wearing a dedicated VR headset, producing an immersive effect intended to feel like an actual expedition across the planet's surface.

After launching from Earth by rocket, guests arrive on the red surface of Mars and can move freely through a 360-degree virtual recreation of the planet. The experience includes touring a Mars base, travelling across the terrain in a rover, and the possibility of encountering Martians. A central moment is the "blue sunset" — the distinctive sight of the sun setting over the red Martian landscape, an effect that can only be seen on Mars.

Photographs can also be taken within the virtual space and downloaded to a smartphone after the experience, allowing visitors to keep a record of the trip.

To mark the attraction, an acrylic keychain featuring the Shima Spain Village character Alejandro in a spacesuit goes on sale. It is available at the souvenir shop "Hasta la Vista" and the fancy goods shop "Fantasia".

Children under 7 years of age, and anyone under 110 cm in height, cannot take part in the experience. Visitors who meet the age requirement but are under 110 cm in height are still unable to participate. Visitors under 13 years of age must be accompanied by someone aged 18 or older.

The attraction takes place at Embassy Hall.

At Hey Japan!, we strive to keep the events listed on our website as current as possible. However, event organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or modify admission requirements without prior notice. Check official websites before attending any event.
