How to get there

Tokyo Pride is Tokyo's annual LGBTQ+ Pride, organized by a Tokyo nonprofit. Since 2025 it has been held in June, Pride Month, instead of its earlier April dates: a weekend festival in Yoyogi Park, a parade through Shibuya and Harajuku, and a month of related events. The dates for 2027 haven't been announced yet.

How it grew

The event started with 4,500 participants in 2012 and reached a record 270,000 in April 2024. Its supporters include Japanese and international companies, government officials, foreign embassies, media, artists and civil society groups. Moving to June in 2025 aligned it with the global Pride Month, which commemorates the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York.

Next year: the organizers hold a sponsor briefing for Tokyo Pride 2027 on 2026/10/21; the festival and parade dates will follow on the official site.
