Ultra Acosta! 2026 is an expanded edition of the cosplay event acosta!

Acosta! is one of Japan's largest cosplay events, held regularly in Ikebukuro and at venues across the country, with annual attendance exceeding 300,000. Billed as an event where participants can shoot, play, and connect, it has built a substantial following among cosplayers and photographers alike. Ultra Acosta! is the large-scale expanded edition of the series, held at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro. Now in its fifth edition, the event drew 20,000 visitors over three days at its fourth edition in July 2025.

The 2026 edition will use multiple venues within Sunshine City, including Exhibition Halls A (floors 2 and 3), B, C, and D, providing space for photography sessions and social interaction among cosplayers and camera operators. Stage events will also be held at the Fountain Plaza.

Friday, September 4 will feature "All-Night Ultra Acosta!," running from 22:00 through to 05:00 the following morning, giving attendees the rare opportunity to enjoy the event in Sunshine City during overnight hours when the complex is not normally open to the public.

On Saturday, September 5, "Acosta! Marché" will take place – a doujinshi market and flea market dedicated to cosplay, with a number of popular cosplayers confirmed to exhibit. Further programming details are to be announced at a later date.

At Hey Japan!, we strive to keep the events listed on our website as current as possible. However, event organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or modify admission requirements without prior notice. Check official websites before attending any event.
