Child fares are for ages 6 to 11. From age 12, the adult fare applies. Age is counted on the first day the pass is valid.

- The Sanyo Shinkansen between Hakata and Kokura, and the Kyushu Shinkansen between Hakata and Kurume

- The Fukuoka City Subway, buses and other companies' railways
- JR Kyushu buses, the Seven Stars in Kyushu and the Aru Ressha
- Trips beyond the area, which cost extra
How to use it
The pass lives on your phone. Tap Activate when you want to start it, and it then runs for 2 consecutive days, such as 1 and 2 January.
Show the pass screen to the staff at a staffed ticket gate: it does not work in the automatic gates. A screenshot is not accepted, so keep your phone online and check that the timer on the pass is running. On trains with onboard ticket checks, tell the conductor where you are getting off.
Carry your passport with the Temporary Visitor stamp, and show it on the train when asked. For a reserved seat, buy a base fare ticket and a reserved seat express ticket before boarding.
Before you buy
The pass is for non-Japanese passport holders who live outside Japan and visit on Temporary Visitor status. If you use the automated gates at the airport, ask staff for the stamp in your passport.
Buy it from overseas travel agencies and LINKTIVITY's sales sites, which email you a link to the pass, or in the my route app. One phone can hold passes for up to four people, but a child's pass can't be bought on its own.
Refunds: before you tap Activate, a pass can be refunded for ¥440 each. After that there is no refund, including if your phone breaks or is lost.
This mobile pass replaces the JR Kyushu Rail Pass (Fukuoka Wide), which JR Kyushu stopped selling after 2024/03/31.
Questions
Does the JR Kyushu Mobile Pass (Fukuoka Wide Area) cover the shinkansen from Hakata to Kokura?
No. The Sanyo Shinkansen is not covered. The Sonic limited express between Hakata and Kokura is covered, in non-reserved seats.
Can I use the automatic ticket gates?
No. Show the pass screen to staff at a staffed gate. Screenshots are not accepted.
Does it go to Karatsu?
Yes, on the JR line between Meinohama and Karatsu. The subway into the city from Meinohama is not covered.
Can I reserve seats?
Not with the pass alone. Buy a base fare ticket and a reserved seat express ticket before boarding.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, before you tap Activate, for ¥440 per pass. After that, no refunds.
Do children need their own pass?
Children aged 6 to 11 need a child pass, ¥1,750, bought together with an adult pass.
Is the old JR Kyushu Rail Pass (Fukuoka Wide) still sold?
No. JR Kyushu stopped selling it after 2024/03/31.
