Kuchu Teien, translated as 'Floating Garden', is the observatory located at the top of the Umeda Sky Building in Osaka. Access to the observatory begins from the 3rd floor of the building.

Visitors can stop by the UMEDA SKYBLDG GALLERY SHOP on the 39th floor, where a wide selection of original Umeda Sky Building and Kuchu Teien Observatory goods is available. A popular item is the Heart Lock, a heart-shaped padlock that can be engraved on-site. Heart Locks must be purchased through an online reservation system, and reservations can be made via the web ticket purchase sites until 21:30 on the same day.

This floor also features a Cantonese restaurant. On the same floor, there is also a lounge offering a wide range of drinks and special Italian-style course meals suitable for anniversaries, with views of the night sky from the tables or from the elegant counter. The venue is known for its sunset views, where the sky transitions gradually from orange to deep blue.

The 40th floor houses a gallery where the scenery outside the windows blends into the exhibition, inviting visitors to reflect on humanity’s aspiration to reach the sky. This floor also includes CAFE SKY 40.

A Premium Photo Plan is also available and includes admission for two to the observatory and a professional photo shoot. Advance reservations are required, and reception takes place at the 39th-floor counter.

At Hey Japan!, we strive to keep the places listed on our website as current as possible. However, location owners or management may alter opening times or modify admission requirements without prior notice. Check official websites before visiting.
