umie MOSAIC is a shopping and dining mall in Kobe's Harborland district, positioned directly on the waterfront overlooking Kobe Harbor. It is one of the three parts of umie, with NORTH MALL and SOUTH MALL, and holds about 80 shops and restaurants, a GiGO amusement arcade and the MOSAIC Ferris wheel.
One turn of the Ferris wheel takes about 10 minutes. At night about 120,000 LEDs light it in changing colors and animations. Retail offerings include international brands and Japanese stores, while restaurants serve Japanese and international cuisine.
MOSAIC opened in October 1992, at the grand opening of Kobe Harborland.
