Pacific League

The Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) Pacific League is one of the two leagues that make up the highest level of professional baseball in Japan. The other league is the Central League. The Pacific League was founded in 1950 and is comprised of six teams based in the Pacific region of Japan.

The Pacific League teams play against each other in a 144-game regular season schedule, which typically runs from late March to early October. At the end of the regular season, the top teams advance to the playoff rounds, with the winner being crowned as the NPB Pacific League champion.

The NPB Pacific League is known for its talented players and competitive teams. Many of the best Japanese players have come from the Pacific League, including Ichiro Suzuki, Daisuke Matsuzaka, and Shohei Ohtani.
