All Japan Model & Hobby Show 2025

The All Japan Model and Hobby Show is a trade fair for model toys — plastic kits, radio-controlled models, model railways — held at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo and run by the Japan Plastic Model Industry Cooperative. The 2026 show is the sixty-fourth.

The first day belongs to the trade and is closed to the public. The two days that follow are open to anyone, and it is those that a visitor comes for.

Makers take stands to show what they are bringing out, and the 2025 show drew 83 companies. Among the names that appear are Tamiya, Hasegawa, Aoshima, Bandai Spirits, Kotobukiya, Kyosho, Wave and Tokyo Marui. What is on the stands runs from plastic kits and radio-controlled cars to model railways, die-cast cars, figures, airsoft guns, paints and tools.

There is a stage with events on it, and there are things to try rather than only look at. Plastic model workshops are run with the model-making groups Mokei & JOY and the Yoshimoto Plastic Model Club, who take several sessions across the weekend, each built around one kit given by its maker. A junk market has also been part of recent shows, where firms sell off odds and ends from their stock.
