A touring exhibition on how Capcom makes video games, shown at museums across Japan since 2025. It follows the company's work from the pixel art of its early titles to current 3D technology, through hand-drawn documents, graphic work and hands-on corners.

Capcom

Capcom was founded in Osaka in 1983. Its game series include Street Fighter, Resident Evil and Monster Hunter.

Highlights

Much of the material was drawn by hand by the developers: planning documents and specifications, rough sketches, character setting sheets, and the original art for posters and game packages. Some of the planning documents date from the company's first years, about forty years ago.

A life-size figure of Chun-Li from Street Fighter shows, through projection mapping, how a realistic 3DCG character is built. At the Capcom Pixel Art Lab, visitors draw pixel art of Capcom characters on a tablet, and motion capture mirrors let them move as a game character.

The corners change from venue to venue. A new Resident Evil walkthrough, for example, was shown only in Osaka and Tokyo.

At Hey Japan!, we strive to keep the events listed on our website as current as possible. However, event organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or modify admission requirements without prior notice. Check official websites before attending any event.
