The sake event SAKE PARK will return for its sixth edition this spring, continuing its mission to introduce sake to new audiences while celebrating the diversity of modern sake culture. For this edition, the event brings together sake breweries from across Japan alongside tableware makers and florists whose work enriches everyday life. Held during the peak of cherry blossom season, SAKE PARK creates an environment where sake is presented not as a niche specialty, but as an accessible and enjoyable part of daily living.
This year’s theme, “Flowers, Tableware, and Spring Sake”, will be expressed through a carefully curated setting at Tokyo Midtown, a venue known for its integration of urban life and art. In keeping with Midtown’s design philosophy, the event will feature objects and experiences that blend seamlessly into contemporary lifestyles. Visitors will be able to enjoy sake at an unhurried pace in a space adorned by flowers and thoughtfully crafted vessels, with falling cherry blossom petals adding a distinctly seasonal atmosphere.
Approximately 30 sake breweries, both domestic and international, are scheduled to participate. The lineup includes innovative sake brewed overseas as well as special releases created to support the recovery of Japan’s Noto region. Rather than prescribing how sake should be chosen, SAKE PARK encourages visitors to follow their instincts — whether that means seeking out a brewery from their hometown, being drawn to a label’s design, or simply accepting a recommendation from a friend.
In addition to sake, the event places strong emphasis on the tableware used to enjoy it. A wide range of sake cups and tableware will be available, from thick-rimmed cups suited to warm sake, to guinomi for slow sipping, aroma-enhancing glasses, and traditional masu cups. Plants and other lifestyle items will also be featured, highlighting the connection between sake and everyday living.
Food will play an important supporting role, with offerings ranging from light snacks designed to pair well with sake to warm dishes and sweets. Visitors are encouraged to explore their own ideal combinations, discovering how different foods complement different styles of sake.
Admission to SAKE PARK is free. Guests who wish to drink sake will need to purchase SAKE tickets along with a masu cup, and these tickets can be exchanged for both drinks and food. The most affordable super early-bird tickets are available in limited quantities via Makuake, with sales running from January 26 at 10:00 until March 26 at 22:00.
