Art Night in the Sky at Expo '70 Park returns to Osaka for its 5th edition, pairing music-synced fireworks with drone art above Suita's Expo Park.

The Expo '70 Commemorative Park will host the fifth edition of "Art Night in the Sky at Expo '70 Park". A signature autumn event in the Osaka–Hokusetsu region, it combines fireworks and drone art choreographed in full synchronisation with music.
First held in 2022, the event was created around the idea of building a locally rooted legacy from Expo '70, and has since drawn a cumulative audience of more than 100,000 people. For its fifth anniversary, the organisers have adopted the tagline "Towards a New Form of Entertainment That Surpasses the Past", and the viewing area moves to the park's East Plaza, a wider space that allows for broader fireworks displays and more three-dimensional drone art.
The East Plaza setting places the audience close to the action, with around 15,000 fireworks spreading across the full width of the space in front of the seating. The result is a panoramic display designed to fill the field of view, with fireworks blooming in a horizontal line and building towards a climax set precisely to music.

Following its popularity last year, drone art returns with updated three-dimensional staging, painting light across the night sky as a giant canvas. The organisers describe it as a one-of-a-kind visual experience unique to the time and place.
The evening also brings together some of Kansai's leading pyrotechnicians, whose work is set to music to colour the clear late-autumn sky on both a grand and delicate scale.
Ahead of the evening show, the "Hokusetsu Culture Festival" runs from 11:00 at the park's Festival Plaza. Organised in partnership across seven cities and three towns in the Hokusetsu area, this year it teams up with the popular "Ramen EXPO" food event, offering stages, booths, and ramen from around the country throughout the day.
