"Hakubutsu Mania" is a two-day fair of natural science, held in spring at Fukiage Hall in Nagoya. Hakubutsu means natural history, and the full title, "Chikyu no Otakara Daishugo", calls it a great gathering of the Earth's treasures. The organisers sum it up as an event where visitors can see, touch, learn and buy. It is run by a committee whose members include the broadcaster TV Aichi.

Most of the hall is given over to booths from across Japan. Fossil and mineral dealers sell specimens, and creators sell goods of their own design built on science motifs.

Beyond the booths, dinosaur fossils are put on show and some exhibitors present research. Talks on a stage cover science, and workshops are run for parents and children to take part in together.

The 2026 edition, the third, filled about 160 booths and drew more than 5,000 visitors, the most so far. For 2027 a dimmer area is being added for exhibitors whose lamps and minerals show best in low light.
