LIGHT PARKS is a winter illumination at Ehime Kodomo no Shiro, a children's park on a hillside in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture. Its displays follow the slopes of the park and reach out over the lake, and the evening is built around things to do as well as things to look at. The FeStA LuCe committee is in charge of the overall production.

The 2026 edition: Otonameku, Night Journey

The theme for 2026 is Otonameku, Night Journey (オトナメク、ナイトジャーニー). Otonameku means to turn grown-up, and the organizers aim the evening at adults as much as at children. The flyer also carries a logo marking ten years of FeStA LuCe.

Lasers cross the lake and the night sky in a show that uses the water among the hills as its stage.

The Christmas tree, dressed in oranges and mikan, Japanese mandarins, stands more than 13 metres tall. On one slope, coloured lights are laid out like dandanbatake (段々畑), terraced fields. Santa Village has a sleigh that visitors can sit in for a photograph. A bonfire corner, where people gather around a fire, is also planned.

Night of the Nutcracker (Kurumiwari Ningyo no Yoru, くるみ割り人形の夜) is a projection mapping and light-up show, billed as a pre-show.

The first evening opens with a lighting ceremony on the lawn, Shibafu Hiroba (芝生広場). After opening music, children from Keio Kindergarten (慶応幼稚園) and the visitors count down together, and the whole park lights up at once.

Light activities in 2026

Hikari no Shateki (光の射的), a shooting gallery of light, has players aiming water guns at ornaments of light. Night Swan (ナイトスワン) is a swan boat that goes out onto the lake where the laser show plays. A hunt for neon lights is tied to a puzzle story, and the other activities are Hikari no Rakugaki (光のらくがき), or light graffiti, and Colorful Shadow (カラフルシャドー). A digital stamp rally and a photo contest run alongside them.

The Christmas market and the station display in 2026

The Ehime Christmas Market (えひめクリスマスマーケット) is held for the first time in 2026. The Mican payment app also works at the kitchen cars, the food trucks at the venue.

A satellite display stands in the town centre at Matsuyama-shi Station Square, renewed in September 2026, and is co-hosted by Matsuyama City. It has no lighting ceremony of its own.
