The city of Takasaki — long celebrated as “ROCKの街 (Rock City)” — will once again host one of Gunma Prefecture’s largest music events: TAKASAKI CITY ROCK FES. 2026, scheduled for June 27 (Sat) and June 28 (Sun), 2026.

This large-scale urban and indoor rock festival brings together three major venues near JR Takasaki Station: G Messe Gunma, Takasaki City Theatre, and Takasaki Arena, all of which collaborate closely with the surrounding downtown area. First launched in 2024, the festival has quickly become a landmark event, and the 2026 edition marks its third year.

In 2025, the festival featured an impressive lineup of 80 artists, drawing approximately 30,000 attendees. The upcoming 2026 edition is expected to continue this momentum, showcasing leading figures in Japan’s music scene alongside talented local bands. As one of the prefecture’s largest music celebrations, the festival aims to embody Takasaki’s identity as a “city of music” and a “city of rock,” attracting both local residents and music lovers from around the country.

Adding to the festivities, the G Messe outdoor exhibition area will also host the popular food event “TAKASAKI UMAIMON MARKET”, offering visitors a chance to enjoy regional specialties and gourmet delights while experiencing the energy of the festival.

Further details will be released later by the organisers on the official website.
