Moominvalley Park is an immersive theme park where guests can step into the enchanting world of the Moomins. As visitors walk through the park, they can discover familiar places from the beloved stories — such as the Moominhouse, home to the Moomin family, and the bathing hut built by Moominpappa. During the summer, this is where the Moomins love to swim, fish, and relax. The lighthouse, which appears in the original tales, also stands proudly within the park.

Throughout the park, fans can find charming props and scenes that feel straight out of the Moomin stories. At several points called Story Doors, visitors are guided through the world of the Moomins and can learn about the characters, settings, and stories behind them. There are five of these guides scattered across the park.

For young adventurers, Hemulen’s Playground offers a large, treehouse-like structure for active play, while the Lonely Mountain Observatory, featured in Comet in Moominland, invites guests to explore the wonders of Moominvalley’s universe. Deeper in the greenery, fans can even discover Snufkin’s Tent, a peaceful spot inspired by one of the series’ most beloved characters.

The park also features live entertainment, including the chance to meet favorite Moomin characters. At Emma’s Theatre, visitors can enjoy delightful shows starring Moomin and his friends. For an even more immersive experience, the Oshun Oxtra hands-on morphing theatre allows guests to relive Moomin stories in an interactive way.

A highlight of Moominvalley Park is the three-story exhibition facility Kokemus, which means “experience” in Finnish. Kokemus offers plenty to explore — from exhibitions about the Moomin franchise to a cozy library café and an indoor playground. Guests can also enjoy delicious Moomin-themed food within the facility.

For those who love collecting memories, the Moomin Post offers exclusive Moomin-themed postcards, stationery, and other adorable goods. Several shops throughout the park feature limited-edition merchandise available only at Moominvalley Park, including one dedicated entirely to Little My.

The magic of Moominvalley Park changes with the seasons. Each season brings new decorations, events, and experiences, ensuring that every visit feels fresh.

At Hey Japan!, we strive to keep the places listed on our website as current as possible. However, location owners or management may alter opening times or modify admission requirements without prior notice. Check official websites before visiting.
