Tokushima Zoo is a zoo in Tokushima City covering 15.19 hectares. Its animals are shown by climate zone, in four areas, with a children's zoo as a fifth.
The animal areas
The temperate area includes a flying cage for cranes, ibises and other birds, along with Asiatic black bears, red pandas, Japanese serows and small-clawed otters. Chimpanzees, several baboon and macaque species and a puma live in the tropical area. The savanna area holds lions, Chapman's zebras, meerkats, capybaras and flamingos, and the cold area has polar bears and Andean condors.
The children's zoo keeps Humboldt penguins, squirrel monkeys, guinea pigs, llamas, sheep and ponies.
