How to use it

The pass is valid on the day you first use it, not for 24 hours. You can buy it in advance; the date is printed on the back the first time you put it through a ticket gate or a bus card reader.

On the subway, always use the automatic ticket gates. On a city bus or Kyoto Bus, insert the card into the reader when you get off on your first ride; after that, just show the date on the back to the driver. On buses that issue numbered tickets, insert the card when you get on and when you get off. If your first ride of the day is on a Keihan Bus or JR Bus, write the date on the front of the card with a permanent marker.

Show the pass on the day you use it to get the welcome offers.

Before you buy

Anyone can buy it, all year. It is sold at subway stations, Kyoto City Bus & Subway Information Centers, commuter pass sales booths, on Kyoto City buses (where it can sell out), and at some convenience stores, tourist information centers and hotels in Kyoto. Kyoto Bus, Keihan Bus and West Japan JR Bus offices sell it too.

Refunds: an unused pass can be refunded at a subway station, an information center or the Kyoto City Bus office, minus a ¥200 fee.

This pass replaces the bus-only Kyoto City Bus One-Day Pass, which stopped being sold at the end of September 2023 and could not be used after the end of March 2024.
