Ashikaga Flower Park

Ashikaga Flower Park is a botanical garden located in Ashikaga, Japan. It is known for its beautiful wisteria flowers, which bloom in a variety of colors, including pink, purple, and white. The park features a large trellis covered in wisteria flowers, as well as a wisteria tunnel, which visitors can walk through. Other attractions include gardens of roses, tulips, and other flowers, a greenhouse, and a fountain show. The park is a popular spot for tourists and photography enthusiasts and is open year-round, with the best time to view the wisteria being in April and May. The park also hosts special night illumination events, allowing visitors to enjoy the blooming wisteria beautifully lit at night.

From mid-October to mid-February, Ashikaga Flower Park hosts the Illumination Festival. During this period, the 100,000㎡ flower garden is beautifully illuminated with over five million lights, making it one of the largest illumination displays in Eastern Japan. In March 2022, it was selected as one of Japan’s Three Great Illuminations, ranking No. 1 nationwide.

The event features three themed displays, each offering a unique and enchanting experience found only at Ashikaga Flower Park. From mid-October to mid-November, visitors can enjoy the Collaboration of Light and Flowers. The atmosphere then transforms into a festive Christmas Fantasy from late November to late December, and finally, the New Year Illumination brightens the park from New Year’s Day to mid-February with a brilliant harmony of light and winter-blooming flowers.
